Solar Array

Kyocera’s advanced cell processing technology and automated production facilities produce a highly efficient multicrystal photovoltaic modules. The conversion efficiency of the Kyocera solar cell is over 16%.

These cells are encapsulated between a tempered glass cover and a pottant with back sheet to provide efficient protection from the severest environmental conditions.

Xantrex XW System:

Sunfind Solar Products is excited to now offer the Xantrex XW Inverter system... all assembled and prewired!

Battery Bank:

SUNFIND HP Systems come standard with a East Penn battery bank. Comprised of 6V batteries, all SUNFIND HP Systems come with a quality battery bank that is going to provide reliable, long term power for years to come.

Sealed, Maintenance Free AGM: L16 - 390AH @ 20HR Any SUNFIND OFF GRID system can be equipped with AGM L16. These batteries require less generator time to charge and require no equalization or maintenance. Best solution. Average life: 8-10 years.

System Design

Ensuring a system is properly designed for location and properly matched to the loads required is critical. A improperly sized system can be a recipe for poor performance and many headaches. Some basic system design criteria:

PV Array

In the Northern Hemisphere, you need the Solar Array facing south. Due south is preferred with a deviation of no more than 15 degrees to either the east or west. No shading on the solar array; any shading will drastically reduce the output of the solar array. Take into account the Sun will track much lower to the horizon during the winter months.

Inverter System

When sizing an inverter system, it is critical to take into account all the loads that are required. Too small of an inverter will result in the inverter constantly cutting out due to being overloaded. Most all inverters used in home applications are pure sine wave. Also, many inverters have software that allow programming, such as automatic generator start, charge setting and other system settings. It is important to be sure of exactly what type of inverter is being purchased and its capabilities.

Battery Bank

Ensuring the battery bank consists of quality batteries designed for the demands of off-grid living. A properly sized battery bank will take into account the available charge sources as well the an appropriate back-up time for the system. A battery bank that is properly size can provided 10+ years of trouble free service.

It is critically important to look at solar energy as a finite resource... you’re only going to produce so much power per day! Just like the fuel in a vehicle’s tank, money in the bank or food in the freezer, there is only a set amount of power in your batteries.

SUNFIND CTTG (Cottage) Systems

SUNFIND CTTG Systems are ideal for small, remote cabins that only require power for basic appliances such as: Radios, lights, well pump or cistern pump, toaster and other basic appliances. All SUNFIND CTTG Systems are designed to be used with a back-up generator for those times where an emergency charge or larger loads are required.
